Jokinen, Bergeron, Bryzgalov Named NHL's 'Three Stars'

Hurricanes left wing Jussi Jokinen, Bruins center Patrice Bergeron and Coyotes goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov have been named the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the week ending Jan. 16. Jokinen led NHL scorers last week with seven points (four goals, three assists) in three games, helping the Hurricanes gain four of a possible six points and move within one point of the eighth playoff position in the Eastern Conference. Bergeron notched seven points (four goals, three assists) in four games as the Bruins won three of four starts to move into first place in the Northeast Division. Bryzgalov posted a 3-0-0 record, 2.00 goals-against average and .938 save percentage as the Coyotes climbed to fourth place in the Western Conference standings.

D. Sedin, Hiller, Theodore Named NHL 'Three Stars'

Canucks left wing Daniel Sedin, Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller and Wild goaltender Jose Theodore have been named the NHL 'Three Stars' for the period ending Jan. 9. Sedin led all players in goals (five) and points (seven) last week, helping the Canucks post a 3-0-1 record and claim first place in the NHL overall standings. Hiller posted a 2-1-0 record, 0.67 goals-against average and .977 save percentage in three starts, concluding the week with consecutive shutouts and an active scoreless streak of 154:50. Theodore posted a 3-1-0 record with a 1.50 goals-against average and .946 save percentage in four starts last week as the Wild swept a three-game east coast road trip.

Varlamov, Doan, Lidstrom Named NHL 'Three Stars'

Capitals goaltender Semyon Varlamov, Coyotes right wing Shane Doan and Red Wings defenseman Nicklas Lidstrom have been named the NHL's 'Three Stars' for the week ending Jan. 2. Varlamov stopped 55 of 56 shots in backstopping the Capitals to a pair of victories, including the 2011 NHL Winter Classic. Doan led all scorers last week with eight points (five goals, three assists) in four games, extending his consecutive-game point streak to six. Lidstrom tallied eight points (two goals, six assists) and extended his point streak to seven games as the Red Wings posted a 2-1-1 record.
